Juice Cleanses are gaining popularity at the moment. I do like the idea of them and I think they can definitely help remove toxins from the body and improve skin and general health.
It would be convenient to sign up to one of the many programs and have the juice delivered however, I’ve found they are quite expensive and you don’t have any control over the ingredients therefore there could be some unwanted extras in there that you don’t know about.
It’s certainly much cheaper to do it yourself and allows full control of what you put in. It doesn’t require much time or effort, I usually whizz something up at 6am before running out the door to the gym. I generally have one juice per day however I plan to do a full two day cleanse before my next trip.
Here’s a simple way to get your 7 a day.
1 Conference Pear
Handful of Strawberries
Handful of Grapes
Handful of Raspberries
Freshly Squeezed Juice of 1 Orange
Roughly chop the bigger fruits and add to the blender. Then pour over the orange juice and you’re good to go!
I generally just use whatever I have available and it varies day to day. You can add anything and it’s a great way of using up fruit that’s almost past it’s best.
It’s so easy to do, there’s really no excuse for not getting your 5 or 7 a day. If you don’t like the bits you can always sieve the juice into the glass.
