October has gotten off to a busy start with a hectic but great weekend. On Saturday I did something I absolutely hate doing – I got my hair cut. That might not seem like a big deal for some people but I really don’t enjoy it. It takes me a while to book an appointment and I recognise it needs to be done but in the days leading up to it, I always convince myself that I like my hair the way it is. Never mind the fact that for about a month I’ve been hating my hair every single day. Anyway I did it and it looks much healthier even though I only got an inch off. Saturday afternoon was spent shopping and having lunch with my mum and gran. Sunday morning I caught up with my friend and her beautiful son, Sunday afternoon was spent watching F1 and on Sunday night I went to see Emeli Sande in concert. What a great start to a very exciting month!
Anyway on to today’s outfit. If there was one thing I had to wear every single day for the rest of my life it would be white lace. I just have this love affair with it and as a result I have invested in numerous different styles and pieces. Whether it be a pretty dress or a casual jumper like today’s, I just can’t get enough. The jumper is from Forever 21 and I’ve had it for a while but it’s been hiding in a drawer. Now as we move into Autumn, I can get a bit more wear out of it. As it’s slightly cropped, it’s better suited to high waist jeans. I need to invest in a denim blue pair of high waist jeans as I have a few black pairs but no classic styles. They are currently top of my wish list but for this occasion, my mid rise River Island jeans will have to do.
I love the pretty white lace detail clashed with the grey jersey material. It gives that ‘I haven’t tried too hard’ vibe yet it’s still polished enough. It’s perfect for the current season and I’m sure I’ll be wearing it frequently over the coming weeks. I’ve paired with a double breasted jacket from Zara. This is another piece which hasn’t had much wear. I’m not too sure why, I guess it’s quite smart and I’ve just not got round to wearing it.
