Good Morning Monday,
I’m back with a new workwear post featuring the very much on trend design of the moment which is gingham of course. It’s literally everywhere and although I do love the classic black and white style, I was more drawn to this navy colour in the hope of not falling fowl of the ‘turning up at the same place wearing the same thing as someone else’ nightmare scenario that up until now, I’ve somehow managed to avoid.
These trousers are from Topshop and they are my absolute favourite style with the high waist and ruffle detail. You’ll have seen the two other pairs I own in grey (here) and black (here) in recent posts and obviously I couldn’t resist another pair. They are a different material to the others I already own which is good. It’s almost a check, crepe material which is very light and airy and will be perfect for Spring/Summer. The pattern is really pretty and the shape and cut of the trousers is super flirty and feminine.
On this occasion I’ve paired with a high neck, bib front shirt from Temperley. I’ve only worn this a handful of times but when I do wear it, I feel really sophisticated. It’s quite a stiff material and the high neck victorian style with the bib front detail is really smart which is great for work. I love the cuff detail on the sleeves, they give a very polished finish.
My French Connection double breasted blazer is a great match and the shade of grey goes really well with the trousers. You really need to wear something simple with the trousers as otherwise it will be too much.
My Fiorelli bag is my ideal work companion carrying all my essentials for a day at the office.
