This is not the usual morning routine post filled with beauty and skincare tips and tricks, this is the ultimate luxury morning routine and one I wish I could follow every single day. Personally I don’t think there is a better way to start the day than with a relaxing soak in a sizzling hot jacuzzi surrounded by beautiful plants in the open air yet still remaining privacy. When we discovered our hotel had a spa, our first thought was that there would be additional charges to use it. I don’t usually like being wrong but on this occasion I was delighted. We could use the facilities (jacuzzi, sauna, gym) as often as we liked, only treatments were chargeable.
The jacuzzi is set in the middle of a Moroccan style riad with high walls but no roof meaning you could easily enjoy the spa at any time of day, with the privacy you would expect in a spa all the while admiring the blue sky or pillow like clouds above. The spa was open from 8am-8pm and we ventured down around 8am each morning to enjoy the spa all to ourselves. In the week we were there, no one else was in the spa at the same time which was a complete luxury. Not that it would have mattered, the jacuzzi is massive and many people could have been in it at the same time without it feeling overcrowded but there is something delightful about having it all to yourself with no one else disturbing the calm or peace and quiet.
It’s a great way to start the day, taking a moment for yourself to go through all the things you need to do that day which on holiday for me consists of choosing a bikini, eating, reading, sleeping – if only every day was as simple. It’s also good for your body to refresh and revitalise especially on holiday with the intense heat and over indulgence.
Having used the spa every day of our trip I can honestly say it was of huge benefit particularly those first few days when you’re just getting settled and it’s still hard to switch off from everything. It definitely helped me relax more quickly and I feel much better for having taking that half hour every morning to focus completely on myself.
