I’m not going to go on too much about how much I love white lace, if you’ve been around for a while you’ll know. What’s even better though is white lace on holiday with golden sun-kissed skin. That’s my absolute favourite thing to wear when I travel and I’ve gone through various dresses, tops and playsuits over the years.
This top was a last minute purchase before I left for Cape Verde and I’m so pleased I discovered it just in time. It’s also one of very few Zara purchases I’ve kept from recent orders. I feel like every time I place an order online, it arrives and I head straight to the post office or to the store to return it all. Anyway that’s a story for another day.
I absolutely love the detail and intricacy of the lace of this top. It’s a crisp, clean white that instantly attracts attention. The cherry on top is the bardot style with beautiful flute sleeves adding further shape and creating a beautiful silhouette. The elastic in the bandeau area and mid way down the sleeve is tight yet super stretchy therefore giving the perfect balance of holding the shape while not cutting off circulation. It’s also one of the best bardot tops I own for freedom of movement. I have others where you literally can hardly move your arms as it’s too restricted or the sleeves will pop up on to your shoulders and look ridiculous. This one doesn’t do that and it’s so flattering. Instead of wearing in the evenings with a high waist maxi skirt, I decided to wear during the day over the top of bikinis.
I can’t quite get enough of it and you’ll probably be as shocked as I was when I tell you the price. This stunning, bang on trend, feminine and flirty number is only £15.99. Of course I can’t find it on the website now but I only got it about two weeks ago so it’ll probably come back or you might still be able to get it in store.
