Summer in Scotland isn’t always sun and blue skies but we do sometimes have high temperatures amongst the cloud and rain. Dressing for those days is particularly difficult as it’s hot enough to wear nice summer skirts and dresses yet it’s not always appropriate as you might end up soaked if you get caught in a heavy shower. Yesterday was definitely one of those days.
It’s certainly been too hot for jeans some days and that’s when I turn to lighter and brighter summer trousers. This stripe pair from Zara are perfect as they are linen and therefore very light and comfortable. The high waist style is my favourite and the ruffle detail helps to add shape.
The vertical stripes are flattering and add length to my short legs. The width of the stripes is just right – any wider and they would create a short, stumpy effect and the detail would be lost if they were any thinner.
Paired with a simple white tee, a cross body bag and high top sneakers, this is an easy outfit to wear on a casual summer day.
