Good Morning & Happy Friday,
Today I’m sharing a holiday outfit I didn’t get round to posting.
Romper is such an American word but I feel it suits this playsuit from Urban Outfitters and since I was on holiday or ‘vacay’ I think it’s appropriate to use. I came across this on another blogger – Styled Avenue. Meg styles it totally differently to how I would but that’s what I love about finding inspiration from others, you take it and work it in to your own personal style. I was delighted to find it was from Urban Outfitters and that they also had it in the UK store. So often I find things I like on American bloggers but can never get them here. I’ve been there, done it and wore the t-shirt literally with the import duties and taxes when buying 6 x Triangl bikinis and I swore I wouldn’t do it again unless it was something major. I really like a lot of the styles they have on Sheinside and Sabo Skirt but I’m just too cautious now of the charges, too worried about the sizing not being quite right and too impatient for the time it takes for the packages to be processed although I do think the delays are mostly at the UK side. Following the tracking you can see your parcel has travelled from Hong Kong to the UK within 24 hours but somehow it takes 7 days for it to reach you from London. It just doesn’t make sense but anyway I didn’t need to go through any of that to get my hands on this little romper.
For holiday I’m all about easy, effortless outfits. During the day I just want to throw something on over my bikini and hit the pool or beach. It has to be easy enough to get on and off quickly and fuss free without too many buttons/ties/zips. This is really simple with only a halter neck tie to secure in place. It works well actually as you can get the fit just right tying as tight or as loose as you like. I decided to wear with a white bardot style top underneath. I felt I was a bit exposed without it and I prefer to be covered up a little when going for breakfast and lunch.
The top is from H&M and at only £17.99 it’s really good value. The quality is excellent with a really silky soft material and beautiful, loose, tie sleeves. It’s an almost off white colour which actually worked perfectly with the blue and white stripes on the romper. The white on that is not too bright and it was an almost perfect match with the top. The material actually has a very faint pattern which you probably can’t see from the photos. It’s very light but just adds a subtle touch to an otherwise plain white top. The button detail down the front of the romper is really cute with just enough spacing in between. I think for wearing here I would pair with a white shirt for a smarter look or with a casual tee and white high top sneakers for a more day to day look. It’s very versatile and that’s what drew me to it in the first place. I could already imagine a few different ways to wear it and that’s always the sign of a worthwhile purchase.
