The summer sales have started and if you get in there quick you can certainly pick up a good bargain. Zara and River Island have been my favourite so far and some stores have yet to start theirs so I’m keeping my eyes peeled for when they do as with a winter sun trip booked I know I’ll get good get wear out of any summer pieces I snap up.
Today I’m featuring one of the items I picked up in the River Island sale. I managed to get a beautiful white embroidered crop top which is something I would happily have paid full price for and that’s the kind of pieces I allow myself to buy in the sales. Of course there’s thousands of trend items at really good prices however there’s good reason for this and it’s so easy to get caught up in the 70% price reduction. Anyway back to the top. The high neck with subtle frill detail is gorgeous and the fit is just right. For some reason I usually avoid sleeveless tops even though I’m not particularly conscious of my upper arms. This one is cut really well and the crop waist is at the perfect point and definitely not too short like some others. The embroidered detail is stunning and I know I’ll get plenty of wear out of this on holiday with high waist skirts or shorts.
I’ve paired with a midi skirt on this occasion for a little more coverage. It’s summer after all and although we haven’t enjoyed the 30+ degree temperates that hit the South of the UK last week, we have had some great days with very pleasant weather.
The skirt is from Whistles and it’s one I picked up in the summer sale a few years ago. It’s definitely a piece I’ll have in my wardrobe for years and years to come as the quality is exquisite and it flows beautifully. The pastel blue colour will always be in style in Spring/Summer and it’s one of my favourite sale purchases.
