Baby Blue

Good Morning,

My new favourite coat is back and this time without the snow covered backdrop. I absolutely love this coat and I’m so pleased I was able to snap it up in the sale. It’s a key piece in my wardrobe and will be for seasons to come. As I get older, I’m finding I’m much more selective about my purchases and there’s less impulsive spending. Each purchase is more carefully considered and I’m choosing quality over quantity most of the time.

I’ve paired my lovely coat with a new pair of high waist jeans. They’re also from Zara in the sale and I’d actually purchased them a while back in a size 8 and wore them out for dinner one night but they were so big and baggy at the back, they just looked ridiculous. I don’t know what it is with jeans at the moment but 9 times out of 10 when I buy what I think should be the right size, they never fit. It’s been a nightmare trying to find the right size and style to suit across all stores I’d usually buy jeans from. Anyway, luckily they still had a size 6 in stock when this pair went into sale so I took the opportunity to snap them up and I’ll list the size 8 for sale on eBay shortly. They are such a lovely pair of jeans with the high waist being ideal for this time of year when we’re all carrying a little more weight. The frill detail at the waist is really pretty and feminine. It adds a nice touch and makes them a little more special than just an everyday pair of jeans. The length is good too, I’ve still had to roll up slightly but not too much.

I’ve worn with a simple top from Mango with black piping detail and beautiful trumpet sleeves. I love picking up tops like this which are comfortable, go with pretty much everything and are easy to wear any day of the week yet still have that little something that make them smart and not basic if that makes sense.

My ankle boots add some much needed height and are sleek and classy. I really like the contrast of the teddy material of the coat against the clean leather of the boots. It almost cuts right through the fuzziness.

The bag is new and was a Christmas gift from my brother, Izzy and the twins. I absolutely love it and it’s so me. The quilted detail is clean and sharp and the gold chain is very elegant and luxurious. It’s also the perfect size, big enough for my camera, lenses and all my other everyday essentials. It has a cross body strap but I feel it’s just too big on me to wear that way and I quite like holding it with the short chain. It’s a bit different from other styles around at the moment.

Looking at these photos, the jeans make my legs look sooo long which is never a bad thing. Happy days.
