I’m not usually one to clash prints but it’s summer and I’m always a bit bolder in my colour palette and outfit choices around this time of year. I don’t know what it is but I always feel more inspired in summer, more focused and can decide on what to wear quite easily. Of course I still have days where I feel I have nothing to wear which is just downright ridiculous however the majority of the time I find it more straightforward to put together different outfit combinations and jazz things up a bit from my usual style.
Today’s outfit is a good example of that. The stripe trousers have featured a zillion times mainly with white blouses or tops because it’s simple and avoids taking anything away from the trousers. This time around I paired with a little bandeau polka dot top partly because it was about 25 degrees but also because I’m always more confident getting my upper arms and décolletage area out when I’ve got a golden glow.
I quite like the combination of the red and off white stripes with the subtle polka dot pattern, it isn’t too garish or too much of a contrast. The trousers being so high waisted means there’s only a little bit of skin in between showing which suits me, I don’t always want to show too much.
The bag is new and is ideal actually as the shade of nude goes well with most things and there is a little bit of detail which is enough to take it from a day bag to an evening clutch if need be. Sadly the strap doesn’t detach but it can be tucked in to the zip without being too obvious.
The caged sandal works well with the overall look as it’s almost giving some coverage which you wouldn’t get with a normal court shoe or barely-there style sandal. That would probably appear quite bear or exposed if that makes sense.
Anyway this is a great choice for heading out for cocktails with the girls or for a family BBQ while enjoying the sunshine.
