On our third day in Paris we decided to take it a bit easier and just take our time to enjoy it rather than rushing around trying to do as much as possible.
We were again blessed with beautiful weather which was really unexpected for the time of year but very much appreciated as it allowed us the freedom to spend as much time as we wanted outside rather than trying to avoid the rain. It was also pleasantly mild and having packed our winter coats, we were delighted not to be freezing whilst out and about.
Our first stop on day 3 was the Love Lock Bridge. Although I was visiting with friends, we wanted to stop by and see the bridge. It was relatively quiet which allowed us time to enjoy the views and take our time. On one side of the bridge there are some stalls selling padlocks (obviously) and some other bits and bobs. We got 4 packs of coasters with iconic Parisian landmarks for only 10 euros I think. Perfect souvenir or gift for loved ones. They also had postcards, key rings and a lot of other nik-naks at very reasonable prices.
From the bridge we walked down to Le Louvre. Arriving around 1pm, we expected it to be very busy but we were surprised to find no queues. As mentioned before, entry to the museum is free for those under 26 and all you need is ID to gain the free entry.
Again, you could spend hours or even days going round and taking in all the history and artworks. We only had a couple of hours but we did manage to see all the things we wanted to see and I will return again on my next trip to catch everything we missed.
We stopped off for a much needed bite to eat near to the Museum before making our way to the Champs-Élysées once more for a spot of shopping. We wanted to pick up a few souvenirs, gifts for family and some macarons from Ladurée for ourselves.
After a hectic couple of days we decided to have a quiet night in for our last night in Paris. We had eaten out so many times and were really exhausted from all the walking and sightseeing, we just felt like staying home and relaxing. So that’s what we did. We went to the supermarket and bought pasta to prepare for dinner along with some snacks and ice cream. We put on Beyoncé – Life is but a dream and reminisced about our previous trip only two months earlier when we attended Beyonce & Jay Z – On The Run.
A perfect way to end a perfect trip. Paris, I can’t wait to see you again soon!
