Morning All and Hello November!
Last week I spent a day working from home as I needed to focus on some tasks prior to a meeting in London on Friday. Depending on the nature of your job, working in an office environment can be really effective especially if you connect in with other teams or departments and can easily collaborate on tasks or resolve any urgent queries. On other occasions, working in the office can be quite distracting especially if you have a deadline to meet or the need to focus on a specific piece of work. Working flexibly should be the way forward especially with the technology capabilities nowadays. Having the ability to work from home on those days when you know you can’t afford to have any unnecessary distractions should be acceptable.
It can seem appealing to stay in your pyjamas all day and not worry about how you look (this is what I did) and that may work if you only work from home on occasion however if you work from home regularly, it’s definitely more effective to get ready as you will be more motivated and encouraged to work. You will also be more productive if you have a specific work space with no distractions from TV etc.
