Good Morning,
Last week I was talking about refreshing my wardrobe for Spring, getting rid of the chunky knits and heavy coats and bringing in lighter pieces. Today I’m talking about some new purchases I picked up after having made space in my wardrobe for some new arrivals.
I always go on a bit of a splurge in Spring, filling my wardrobe up with new bright and colourful pieces having made it through the cold, dark winter. It’s always nice to get a few new bits to freshen things up again and to mix and match with existing pieces. This makes you feel like you have a whole new wardrobe when actually you’ve only bought a couple of new things which is a good way of avoiding spending too much money on a whole new wardrobe every season. As much as I’d love to be able to do that, I also have other priorities.
I picked up this cute frill breton stripe blouse from H&M. It was an absolute bargain at £12.99 and is the perfect Spring piece that can be layer under blazers until the temperatures increase then it can be worn on it’s own. The shoulder frill detail is not too extravagant but adds shape and femininity to an otherwise masculine style shirt. I really like this style of shirt especially when it’s dressed up.
On this occasion I’ve paired with a simple pair of jeans and a grey blazer which is warm enough for Spring and matches perfectly with the blue elbow patch detail. The grey shoes are my favourite from last Spring/Summer and I’d like to find more of this style in different colours as they literally go with everything, are really comfortable and can be worn day to day or on a night out. They were only £29.99 from New Look and I’m hoping to find some similar styles.
