Good Morning,

Bank holiday Monday’s are the best kind of Monday. Of course the weather is never usually in our favour here in Scotland so we’re limited in what we can do but having the day off is good enough and we may as well enjoy it as there aren’t that many of them. I’ve got a spa day booked for the next one which is perfect as it doesn’t matter what the weather’s like. Today I’ll be spending the day with family and we’re be having a roast dinner later, can’t wait!

Anyway on to today’s outfit. I’m a huge fan of stripes as you’ve probably gathered over time however I usually stick to the classic blue breton stripe styles and rarely venture into other colours. I was in H&M recently and this blouse caught my eye, particularly the ruffle detail but I was really unsure about the colour. Would it suit me? Would it suit my skin tone? It was on sale for £7 so I figured if it didn’t, it wasn’t much of a loss. Turns out I love it and I think it goes perfectly with my skin tone. The vertical stripes are also a bit different from the usual styles and are actually really flattering drawing the eye down instead of across. The high neck and ruffle detail are my favourite and I know I’ll get good wear out of it. It’s pretty smart but can easily be worn day to day too.

I’ve worn with a classic double breasted blazer which in my opinion is an absolute wardrobe staple. It will never go out of style. This one is from Topshop a few seasons ago and I really like the white button detail, it’s a bit different from the usual silver or gold and it looks great with a simple white tee and jeans. On this occasion I decided to wear with my ripped edge jeans for a bit of a clash and my Steve Madden shoes which I bought last year for my work’s Christmas party. They are so sleek and classy and I hadn’t worn them since but now that Spring has sprung, I’ll be wearing them more often. They are the perfect colour as they go with everything and although they are quite a dressy shoe, I like them with jeans and a blazer just as much as I do with a pretty dress.

My Zara bag adds another dimension with the patent, quilting detail and thick gun metal grey chain. This is definitely one of my favourite bags and although it was quite pricey at £90 for a day to day bag, it’s as good as new and I always feel put together when I wear it. It gives a luxe feel to otherwise basic outfits and dresses things up instantly.
