Good Morning,
Polka dots are in at the moment and they are so understated. They are simple yet sleek and classy adding just enough detail but not too much which is the perfect combination if you ask me.
I picked up this dress whilst out shopping with my dear Gran the other week. The style of dress is not something I’d usually be drawn to however recently I’ve been more inclined to try new things and test out different shapes and styles. I feel the wrap, crossover detail at the front of the dress is well suited to my body shape. It showcases my small waist and creates a flattering décolletage without being too busty which I’m not that comfortable with. I much prefer high neck, short dresses which show more leg than bust but today I’m trying something different.
The waist line sits at just the right point again creating shape and allowing the skirt to flow nicely without impacting on the top half. I believe the sleeves are what’s known as balloon sleeves, am I right? The cuff detail is tight and fitted and the rest is wide and flowy. They are lovely and definitely flattering if you’re conscious about your arms and want to cover them up without wearing something tight fitting which sometimes heightens or draws attention to the problem. Talking about problems, the only downside is wearing this dress on a windy day. I managed to accidentally flash two police officers while snapping these photos. Oops.
Moving on, I’ve paired with my classic lace up shoes also from Topshop. I think they’ve brought these back in a similar style. If I find them I’ll put a direct link below. The lace up detail works well as the dress is quite short and the shoes help elongate the legs.
The bag is my trusty Zara quilted number which never fails to impress.
