Simple Styling

Good Morning,

A pretty simple outfit post today but sometimes that’s exactly what’s needed in the transition to Autumn styling before it’s cold enough for those chunky knits and while it’s still warm enough to get away with lighter layers. I don’t know if you noticed but last week New Look had a 25% flash sale and I placed 3 separate orders as I felt obliged with such a good discount on offer and would have had FOMO if I hadn’t participated. As usual, 80% of the stuff got sent back but this top just made the cull and lives to see the light of day.

As soon as I seen it, I loved it which probably won’t come as too much of a surprise. It’s the perfect combination of my favourite styles including the embroidery detail and the fact it’s white.  There’s nothing I love more than a clean white top and my only criticism of this is that it’s not as crisp a white as I would like. I can live with it though #firstworldproblems.

The sleeves are a balloon style which adds volume and shape to an otherwise basic top. It’s quite a short fit and I think if you were really tall it would almost be cropped. If you’re short like me, it fits just fine.

The blazer is classic and double breasted. The white buttons go well with the white top and it’s so easy to throw on and head out the door.

I’ve paired with a rather tight pair of high waist jeans. Need to get myself back in the gym as although I’m not too concerned about gaining weight, I definitely can’t afford to replace my entire wardrobe.

The boots are new in and I have developed a strong bond with them already. I’ve been wearing my other boots for a while now and it was time for a new, fresh pair. These ones are from Topshop and are in the classic style I love. The smooth leather is ideal for Autumn and much more wearable than suede. Expect to see a lot more of them in the coming weeks and months.
