Polka Dot Wrap Skirt

Good Morning,

Polka dots are everywhere at the moment and they are one of the few trend pieces I’ve bought into this season. Simple yet stylish, they dress up a basic top or jumpsuit as you will have seen in my recent post. They ain’t too fussy but they add some detail to an otherwise boring, day to day outfit.

I spotted this little skirt on ASOS and although I’ve already got quite a few polka dot pieces, it was too affordable to resist. I’m constantly planning outfits at the moment for my trip to Paris next month and although I’m only going for 3 days, I seem to have convinced myself that I need about 12 outfits. I’m definitely not going to have time to wear all the looks I’ve put together in my head but I can always save them for another time, occasion or trip.

The wrap style of the skirt suits my hourglass figure perfectly and the prominent black with bold white dots are eye catching. The ruffle detail is flirty and feminine and adds some shape and volume.

I’ve paired with a top which is also new in from Zara. I love the black ribbed material with the white piping along the edges. It’s really simple but clean and classy and works perfectly with the skirt. The higher neckline also works well especially in terms of keeping warm as skirts aren’t the most practical option for Autumn in Scotland however we’re always determined not to be defeated by the weather.

I love a skirt and boot combo. There’s something edgy about the whole look and it just works. I’ve paired with my favourite pair of the moment for a classier look. The sharp pointed toe adds length to my short legs and they come up at just the right point on the ankle. Sometimes I find they come up too low or too high and when you’re petite that can make all the difference.
