Good Morning,
I went on a bit of a spending spree on payday, snapping up all the pieces I had my eye on for the last few weeks. This always ends with a trip to the post office to return all the things that didn’t fit, didn’t suit or were simply unnecessary. This time is no different however there is less being returned than I had anticipated.
I wasn’t 100% sold on this dress. I loved it online hence the reason for the purchase then I seen it on a few other people on Instagram and thought it looked lovely. I tried it on late at night with no makeup on with messy hair and of course it didn’t look great. I don’t know why I do that as I just end up feeling awful but I’m usually too impatient to wait until I’m a little more presentable.
Instead of putting straight back in the package and returning, I decided to give it another try in daylight with freshly washed hair, simple makeup and a new bag to match which I had kind of forgotten about. What a difference. I wouldn’t have even thought it was the same dress, it just looked so much better.
I love the long sleeves and they’re perfect for Autumn. The tie neck and tie waist detail allow shape to be created and they can be done in different ways to change things up. The flowy material is flattering on the figure and the ruffles are in all the right places.
I’m not really a girly girl and a lot of dresses in similar styles are too pretty and soft for me. I love the darker tone and detail of this one and it works really well with the ankle boots and more casual style camera bag. The studs down the front also add a nice touch.
It’s safe to say this won’t be getting returned and instead I’ll be stocking up on thermal tops to wear underneath to allow it to be worn through Autumn and particularly for my trip to Paris in a few weeks.
