A wardrobe staple through Autumn/Winter is the jumper dress. I have yet to find a style and shape to suit me and although I love the chunky and oversized cable knits, they just drown me and generally look awful.
In an attempt to participate in the trend, I’ve instead opted for a slimline, bodycon style of the dress. This one is from the petite range at ASOS. Being black, it’s extremely flattering and has the slimming effect we all love. It’s very fitted and the ribbed material adds warmth and detail. The frills on the sleeves add some shape and flare. The length is just right and I’m glad I opted for the petite version as otherwise it would probably have been too long. For a knitwear style dress, it’s really smart and I’ll probably get more out of it at the office than anywhere else. Paired with a blazer and a nice pair of heels, it’ll be really classy for work and different from the frumpy styles we can sometimes opt for through the colder months in an attempt to stay warm. I have to admit though, I’ll only be wearing this on days when I’m feeling slim as any sign of bloating will show so easily. It’s a good way to focus my mind through these next few weeks before my holiday though. When I’m reaching for a chocolate biscuit to go with my 11am cup of tea, I’ll be thinking twice about it and hopefully opting for some fruit instead.
