Polka Dots & Ruffles

Good Morning,

In a bid to be able to wear skirts through Autumn despite the freezing temperatures and blustery winds, I’ve managed to put together quite a few looks that shouldn’t work given the current climate but do with a few tips and tricks.

I shared this skirt a few weeks ago and at the time I had styled with a simple black top. That is no longer a wearable option as it’s simply too cold for that. This time, I’ve added a long sleeve thermal top with a thick black ruffle sweater. The thin thermal layer underneath helps to hold the warmth generated from the sweater on top and the sweater itself is thick and cosy but still stylish at the same time. I picked this one up from H&M at the beginning of the year but there’s definitely some similar styles in store at the moment as ruffles are still in this season.

I know it looks like I’m braving the cold with bare legs but I do actually have tights on. They aren’t very thick so wouldn’t keep me warm if I was sitting outside for any length of time but it’s fine if you’re walking around and in and out of the cold.
