Snow Day

Good Morning & Happy Hogmany!

On Friday when I woke up around 9:30am and opened the curtains, I was welcomed by a winter wonderland. The snow was still falling and continued to do so for most of the day. It seemed like the perfect opportunity to throw on my new bright blue coat and shoot some pictures to capture the rare occasion as who knows when it might snow at Christmas again.

If you read my boxing day sales post you will have spotted the bright blue teddy style coat from Zara. I had my eye on this as far back as when I was in Paris for my birthday but I waited and waited and it went into the sale. Thankfully they still had my size as that’s the only problem when you’re holding out for something in the hope it will come down in price a little. The risk is it will but they don’t have your size left. I got lucky this time and I’m so pleased with this coat. I love the teddy style and it’s perfect for this time of year. I also think it will be nice for my trip to Milan and Venice in February. It will also satisfy my friend who thinks I don’t wear enough colour. Not only do I now have a beautiful red bag but I have an eye-catching baby blue coat and come to think of it, they’ll probably go perfectly together. Although it might be colour overload for me but let’s see, I’ll give it a try.

On the snowy day I paired with a long sleeve top, simple jumper and jeans underneath. The main priority was to stay warm and the coat definitely helped. My little Kurt Geiger bag was ideal and goes well cross body style with this look. I added my big chunky boots to combat the snow and they were actually great especially given the depth of the snow. Had I been wearing flat boots, the snow would have been up to my ankles so it worked out well.
