New Year Workwear

Good Morning,

I always like to pick up a few new workwear pieces at the start of the year to refresh my work wardrobe. It helps me get motivated and stay focused. By the end of the year my key work pieces are often tired and worn so picking up a couple of new items just freshens everything up. If I feel good about what I’m wearing, it improves my confidence which in turns improves performance. There’s no chance I’ll be 100% focused on my work if I’m feeling uncomfortable or generally just not happy in myself so a little investment in some new workwear is worthwhile in the long term.

I picked up this dress from Topshop and it’s perfect for winter workwear. I can layer a long sleeve thermal t-shirt underneath and throw a blazer on top to make it warm enough for the current temperatures. Adding boots also helps to keep warm and my classic black ankle boots are the perfect match. They are such a good shape and are the most comfortable boots I’ve ever owned and are therefore ideal for wearing for 8 hours straight.

The dress is ribbed which also helps to make it a bit warmer than if it was a smooth texture. The material is quite thick and stiff and the high neck is ideal for winter. The rich navy colour with the elegant white piping is beautiful and fits in perfectly with the other pieces in my work wardrobe. I can easily add a grey blazer or even a chunky knit jumper or my oversized cardigan over the top to keep warm if need be.

At £29, this is a great value addition to my work wardrobe.
