As mentioned on Monday, we seemed to skip Spring and get straight into the depths of Summer on Saturday but I wasn’t complaining. Well I was kind of but you’ll gather that as I go on…
The sun came out on Saturday and it was amazing! It’s crazy how much of a difference it makes. Everywhere you go, everyone is happy and it’s so good to be outside soaking up some much needed Vitamin D. I think a lot of people will be lacking thanks to the longest ever Winter.
Anyway in light of the sudden appearance of Summer and despite longing for it and going on about the weather for the last few months, I had the annual fear of not being ready for wearing less clothes and showing more skin. I seen a quote on Facebook saying ‘I’m not skinny or tanned enough for the sudden appearance of sunshine’ and it summed up EXACTLY how I felt. I haven’t been painting my toenails, I haven’t been working out, I haven’t been shaving the top of my legs (TMI I know) yet what I have been doing is buying every single piece of summer clothing in every shop. I shouldn’t really be feeling uncomfortable when it’s my own damn fault but that doesn’t really come into the equation when we get one sunny day and you feel the need to soak up every single minute just incase it never ever happens again. It’s so funny when you think of it like that but it’s exactly what happens here.
Anyway, in my struggle to decide what to wear I ended up going for a very casual option. I really can’t resist tops with french slogans on them, it’s far too tempting although it results in me having loads with the same caption. This one was far too sweet to resist though, the shade of pink is ideal for Spring/Summer and the relaxed fit is perfect for travelling or just for wearing day to day.
The slogan in white is eye catching while the floral detail is cute and not too overwhelming as can be the case with some other designs.
It’s a very oversized fit which I usually try to avoid as it can make me look bigger than I am however I don’t mind so much with this one as I can easily tuck into high waist jeans or tie a knot to create shape.
It’s so easy to wear with trainers and jeans. So comfortable and casual which was exactly what was required with the surprise bout of sunshine.
