Stripe Dress

Good Morning,

Before my trip to Cape Verde I popped into Primark to pick up a few bits and bobs, as you do. It was mainly flip flops, hair clips, a hat and the little random things you need for holidays that you don’t want to spend a lot of money on. I had a browse through the rest of the store which is usually a chore however it wasn’t too busy and I managed to find a few really nice pieces which took me by surprise.

I spotted this dress and from a far I wasn’t sure on the quality but thought I’d give it a go anyway given it was only £12. The bright white with the rich navy stripes is a classic combo that never goes out of style. The wrap design with the tie waist is lovely and elegant and allows you to secure as you wish to suit your figure or your mood on the day. The lightweight crepe material is really flattering and flows nicely on the body. There is a white slip underneath which is really useful in avoiding a flashing scenario if a gust of wind catches you off guard. The longer length sleeve is something you don’t often see these days but I really like it and it gives a bit more coverage on top whilst the legs are out.

I’ve pared with some grey heeled sandals and a little red bag on this occasion but I’ve also worn for work with some black Valentino style shoes and a blazer which worked really well and secured a lot of compliments. This was probably helped by the fact it was my first day back at work and my tan was still deep but nevertheless, I’ll take the compliments when they come.

All in all this is the perfect versatile summer dress that will always be relevant and can be worn in months or years to come due to the classic style and design. You can’t really go wrong with that and for £12 there’s no excuse not to indulge in a new wardrobe essential especially if you’re stuck in a rut or just need some new pieces that will stand the test of time.
