I’m back with easily my most worn pair of trousers this Spring/Summer. I can’t get enough of them, they are so easy to wear, they go with everything and they have an elastic waistband which is always useful when ice cream is a plenty.
This is probably my favourite look to date featuring the trousers and it was one of those ‘put together by accident’ types which I love. It was on holiday when I realised I didn’t really have anything to wear this top with. I must have tried it with every skirt, short and pair of trousers I had with me and the stripe trousers were the last option I tested and I immediately questioned why I hadn’t thought of putting them together in the first place. It seemed so obvious in that moment yet I had spent so long going through the motions of ‘I really want to wear this top but I have nothing that matches’.
Now that I’ve discovered the outfit combination works, I’m wearing it all the time. It’ll definitely be one of my ‘prepared’ outfits for Mexico which is a new thing I’m going to try. I never plan my holiday outfits in advance hence the reason I ended up in the predicament I’ve just explained. I buy loads of new stuff every single time but it’s all individual pieces, tops, skirts, trousers, shorts but no complete outfits. I know I have the means of putting something together with the volume of stuff I already have but I don’t necessarily invest the time in putting the outfits together before I go to save time and the headache of trying to decide what to wear whilst there. My plan is to have around 10 tried and tested outfits for my 14 day trip and that allows me a bit of freedom for putting together easy or random outfits on 4 of the nights. I am only talking about night time outfits, day time outfits are generally easier and less of a burden.
Anyway I think that’s plenty for today. Check back soon for more summer outfits.
