Zimmermann is one of those luxe brands I lust over, always easily identifiable and forever chic. It’s a firm favourite of Beyonce and if it’s good enough for her then that pretty much says it all.
It’s really expensive though and as much as the styles stand the test of time, it’s not within my price range especially when I’m trying to get on the property ladder.
I have spotted similar styles on the high street but of course there never going to be as good as the real thing. As soon as this playsuit dropped in the new in section on ASOS I bagged it immediately as it had all of the key features of a Zimmermann at a very small fraction of the price.
The pattern is understated yet classy with the ruffle detail around the neck and down the front adding to the elegance. I’m really not a fan of yellow and avoid it like the plague but there is a small amount in this and I’m ok with it. It’s not overwhelming and it’s subtle enough in tone that its not in your face. The cuffed sleeve gives a beautiful shape allowing the material to flow and catch a breeze (not that you can find one in Mexico). The synched in waist gives a nice hourglass shape which could easily be lost otherwise with the material and ruffles.
Of course the quality is not anywhere near a Zimmermann however for £38 you can’t expect it to be exceptional. It does the job and that’s the main thing.
