I headed there on Friday with my mum for a morning of indulgence and some much needed time out. Life is so hectic nowadays and I was talking to someone the other day about how difficult it must be growing up in the current climate with social media and the pressures which at times are self inflicted but nevertheless, our minds have never been busier and it does feel easier to burn out.
In order to avoid this I do like to make sure I take time out every now and again to chill out and switch off. As much as I took some pictures while at the spa, I didn’t have a signal so even if I wanted to, I couldn’t check instagram or emails which is quite refreshing and it’s only then when the mind can relax and slow down for a minute.
It was not a nice day on Friday but that made going into the warm and comforting spa even sweeter. Watching the rain from the window was quite therapeutic and it eventually dried up which allowed a dip in the rooftop infinity pool. All you can see is trees and mountains and I can’t tell you how relaxed I felt in that moment. There was nothing to fill my mind, no worries, no concerns I was simply enjoying that exact moment and that’s something we all should do more of.
All in all we had a lovely morning and made our way back home where I slept for 3 hours. I’d say that’s a pretty good sign of how relaxed I felt afterwards and it also meant I went almost a full day without looking at my phone or computer. Did I miss anything? Of course not. Should I do it again soon? Hell yes!
What do you do to switch off and relax?
