Today’s outfit is probably one of the most colourful you’ll see from me aside from summer and beach attire. In Autumn/Winter I can be drawn to monochrome at every opportunity however I’ve added a few key pieces in soft colour tones to inject some life into my wardrobe this season. It’s easy to keep things plain and simple when it’s wet and dreary but I do feel more energised and uplifted when I wear light and bright colours.
I purchased this coat in Paris and I absolutely love the shade of blue. It’s got an ice cold crispness to it yet it’s subtle and soft enough not to be overwhelming. The white buttons add to the freshness and are big but not too bold. It’s easy to style with neutrals and greys but I feel the colour is heightened when paired with something equally as bright such as the pink top underneath. It’s a very comfortable coat with quite an oversized fit which is useful when wearing knitwear. The shape is flattering and the length is ideal too. It’s a very soft fabric but not at all itchy, I can’t bear those fabrics on my skin which is sensitive enough as it is.
The pink top is an everyday basic from Topshop with a London skyline motif embroidered on the front. It’s a simple but chic for day to day wear.
