Good Morning,
There’s something really elegant about a full neutral outfit. Different tones, shades & even contrasting patterns brought together by a cohesive palette. It can be easy to get drawn towards darker tones through winter and as much as I love an all black ensemble, I prefer lighter tones next to my face. I find it compliments my complexion and brings out the colour of my eyes.
This outfit is another combination of new and old. The bodysuit is new and a classic addition to my wardrobe. The soft beige tone and strong but sleek stripes are smart. The black and gold round button detail down the front cuts through the horizontal stripes adding another dimension.
The soft pattern of the skirt avoids clashing with the detail of the top. The fullness of the skirt and thick waistband also gives a clear separation.
I’ve thrown a bobble knit cardigan on top for warmth and my trusty snake print bag, again in keeping with the overall colour palette but adding a different texture and pattern. The cardigan is currently £25 which is a great price for a wardrobe staple and something you can keep and re-wear year after year.
I’ve been thinking about adding a classic camel colour coat to my wardrobe which would work really well with this outfit. It’s something I’ve always wanted but not yet found the perfect match. It’s one of those pieces that has to be right as it’ll be in my closet for a significant amount of time so not something to rush. I’ll keep my eyes peeled as it would also be good as a base for my trip to Venice. It’s very easy to style and could be my signature coat for the trip allowing me to work my outfits around it rather than attempting to take 2 or 3 different outerwear pieces which is what I’d normally do.
xo!
