Wardrobe Staples – Dresses Edition

Good Afternoon,

I’ve got 3 wardrobe staple dresses to share with you today, kindly gifted by PrettyLittleThing. It can be easy to avoid wearing dresses through the winter season solely due to the weather however there are many ways to make dresses wearable throughout the year and hopefully today’s post will help show you a few of them.

Dress 1 – Little Black Dress

Everyone needs an LBD in their wardrobe whether it’s something elegant and classy or something slightly more casual like this one which can be dressed up or down depending on the occasion. I love the waist detail of this dress, it synchs you in and draws attention to the smallest part creating a flattering silhouette.

I’ve paired with a leather jacket and boots for a biker chic look. You really can’t go wrong with such a classic style and it works whether you’re popping out for a coffee with a friend, heading to a gig or going for dinner and drinks after work. It’s an easy & failsafe option regardless of the season and for those days when you don’t want to have to make too much effort.

Dress 2 – Pinafore Style

The second dress is more on the casual side but could also be dressed up for drinks with the girls or a day event. The pinafore style is on trend at the moment however it’s also a classic design which you can easily wear regardless of the season or current trends. The blush tone is really wearable and can easily be styled with patterns underneath or on top with a statement coat or simply with neutrals for a full ‘tonal’ look.

I’ve styled with a high neck bodysuit with the pattern of the moment – snakeprint. The high neckline works really well with the pinafore style and also helps keep warm too. I’ve kept it simple otherwise with my Louis Vuitton boots and a small bag.

Dress 3 – Jumper Dress

Always a winner in my opinion is the jumper dress. Easy to throw on, no fuss or frills and a wardrobe staple. Stye with statement boots like I have here or simply wear over a satin skirt or jeans – there’s so many options which is the reason they come around every season.

I’ve paired with a pink bag for a little pop of colour although the pastel shade is subtle and not at all overpowering. The boots are very statement however in this case they’re really practical too. Coming all the way up to the meet the dress, they keep my legs warm and covered, all the while looking fabulous.
