Patent Kensington

Good Morning,

If you couldn’t already tell from my post on Tuesday, I’ve really got into bags over the last few years. Before that I was always more of a shoe girl but I’m now probably 50/50 and equally obsessed with both.

Bags are a really important part of every outfit. They carry our most cherished possessions and can elevate a basic outfit to something eye catching. This patent Kensington bag kindly gifted by Kurt Geiger is one of my favourites at the moment. It’s a perfect size and shape, it has a really strong chain that can be worn over the shoulder or cross body and it has a beautiful patent finish which is really striking. I only have one other patent bag but I really love the finish, it looks and feels chic & luxurious. The contrasting quilting is another detail which is eye catching and a bit different from the norm.

I already have 5 of the Kensington bags in my collection, all of which I purchased myself with my own money and without any discount or affiliation with the brand. When Kurt Geiger gifted this particular bag while working on a recent project,  I was absolutely over the moon and slightly overwhelmed. To have my content recognised after such a long time is really reassuring and makes all the hard work worthwhile. Having grown and developed over time to the point where brands I truly value want to work with me is something I’ll never take for granted.

Anyway, I’ve styled with a navy tweed playsuit with silver hardware. I picked this up recently from Zara as I’ve been loving their tweed designs lately & they wear so well. The patent finish of the bag contrasts really well against the weaved texture of the tweed. The placing & direction of the zipped detail is really flattering as it draws your eyes down and in, creating a slimming illusion which is never a bad thing.
