Spring Layers

Good Morning,

We’re already at the mid point of March and I’m slowly but surely retiring the teddy coats and gazillion layers and opting for more Spring apt outfits.

Today’s outfit is a good example for the current climate and a simple way of bridging that gap in between when it’s icy, cold and crisp first thing but warms up later in the day. It’s so hard to get it right as you don’t want to wear something that is too cold in the morning but appropriate in the afternoon or vice versa.

A little mini skirt might seem a step too far at this stage but there’s been some really mild days over the last few weeks which is a stark contrast from the inches of snow we had around the same time last year. This skirt is great as it wraps around so while looking quite short there is actually quite a bit of a material which helps in terms of warmth. I’ve paired with a solid black top with heart detail on one side. My friend got me this for my Christmas and I love it. It’s perfect for everyday wear and goes with lots of different outfit options.

The oversized loop cardigan over the top is the ideal option. You can throw it over, wrap around or use as a blanket if need be, either way it will keep you warm. I’ve had this one for years but still opt for it every Spring and Autumn.

My little LouLou bag is stealing all of the attention though, I find I’m reaching for this over and over again. It’s a really versatile bag with a luxurious and high quality finish yet easily wearable with a casual look such as this one. I’m still absolutely delighted with it if you couldn’t already tell.

Adding black suede ankle boots is another way to transition skirts and dresses from Winter to Spring. They give an instant ‘cool’ vibe but most importantly, keep your tootsies warm.
