I’m starting the new week with a new pair of jeans. I’ve been trying out some different styles and shapes lately and despite not being particularly enthused about a previous pair in the ‘mom’ style, I think this pair are far more wearable.
I don’t have many pairs of light wash denim however when it comes to Spring and particularly Summer, I love the idea of it with a nice golden tan and a white t-shirt. There’s something so classic and chic about that look. I have always struggled to find the right shade combined with a pair in a style and shape that fit and flatter. Being petite, high waist styles are my go to and often that means reverting to a skinny leg. There are times when I simply don’t want to wear skintight jeans and it’s good to have the option of another style for those particular days.
I tried this pair on in store and while I find denim shopping the most soul destroying in terms of the varying sizes from one store to the next, I do find trying them on in store to be the best option. If I buy them, come home and try them on to find they’re not the right fit I get even more annoyed than if I find in store that they don’t fit. It’s more down to the time and energy spent looking and hoping to find a new pair that not only look good and are comfortable but make you feel confident too. It is a challenge being petite and I do feel the variety of styles to suit a smaller frame to be more limited however it shouldn’t be impossible but I know from experience that it can sometimes feel that way. I’m currently putting together a post on denim for a petite frame and I hope to share it soon with examples and styling tips.
Anyway I’ve styled the mom jeans with a simple pink knit jumper since it still feels like winter most days. I picked up the snake print loafers from Zara which I love and will hopefully get plenty of wear when Spring decides to make an appearance. I sized down btw if you’re looking to purchase. My pink Kensington goes perfectly and rounds off the look.
