Louis Vuitton Trail Boots – 9 Month Review

Good Morning,

I thought it was about time I gave a review of My First Designer Purchase since it’s been almost 9 months now. I still have the same level of excitement about these boots as I did the day I bought them in store. Every time I put them on I’m whisked back to that moment and the sheer satisfaction from fulfilling a lifelong dream. If anything I’m further enthused as they have exceeded all expectations and I couldn’t be happier with them. I absolutely made the right decision about making them my first dip in the Designer world.

Wearability

Trust me when I say, these boots go with everything – they honestly do. Whether it’s jeans and tee, a day dress, evening attire or even a pair of sweats, they just work.

Not only do they go with everything, they enhance every single thing. You could be wearing a top from Primark and an old pair of jeans and they will still elevate the outfit to ooze glam and sophistication.

I have lost count of the number of wears but it’s high, I’ve always got them on. I didn’t buy them to sit on a shelf and when they make you feel so good it’s hard not to wear them every day.

Comfort

Although they were comfortable for the 45 minutes I had them on in the store before purchasing and bearing in mind this was on a soft carpet and with limited steps, I was slightly skeptical they’d be comfortable for longer periods of wear. First of all, the volume of wear mentioned above is a clear demonstration of how comfortable they are. I’m not someone who can grin and bear it – if shoes are uncomfortable, they’re coming off. The height is not a problem and the chunky heel helps with that along with the slight platform at the front. The patent toe area is absolutely solid and there is no wear or creasing, nor do I think there will ever be. The first time I wore them and tried to walk up or down stairs was a slight challenge as you can’t really bend at the toe due to how solid that front part is, if that makes any sense. It’s not uncomfortable it just takes a bit of getting used to and they have eased slightly, I don’t even think about it any more or feel it but it’s something I wanted to mention.

I’ve worn them whilst exploring Edinburgh and walking for long periods of time and they are easily the most comfortable boots I own.

Durability

As mentioned above I didn’t buy these boots for them to sit on a shelf and part of the reason I went for a bolder and chunkier boot is because I’m not super careful and as a result I didn’t want something delicate. I can be a bit clumsy, I scuff most of my shoes and I’m ok with that. There are so many bigger issues in life than a scratch on a pair of expensive shoes and it’s just as well because I’ve got loads on these. I was slightly annoyed that I managed to do it on the first wear but I think that’s because I was trying to be careful and that just doesn’t work for me. I’m pretty sure there are many other people who have had these boots longer and worn them more than I have and they will still be in immaculate condition and that’s fine. Apart from the scratches on the patent toe area which would be difficult to keep perfect in any case, they are immaculate and have not lost any shape whatsoever which is a true sign of the quality.

Overall and just in case it’s not inherently obvious, I’m still over the moon with my purchase and will happily relive the memories every time I put them on forever more.
