I could find any excuse to ‘treat myself’ to a new bag and that’s exactly what happened with this one. It’s a limited edition, it’s a Selfridges exclusive are just a few examples of how I was trying to justify it but ultimately I had just come out of hospital and was feeling sorry for myself and that trumped everything else. I then decided I didn’t deserve it, sent it back, instantly regretted it and re-ordered. That gives you a bit of an idea of how I was feeling at that particular time but I’m really glad I did re-order as I snapped up the last one. There’s always something satisfying about having something exclusive, something that not everyone can get especially when it’s a beautiful, light pastel pink bag.
I’ve got a fair few of the Kensington bags now and almost all have a story. I like that they’re all different but with the same signature eagle head feature. This one is the most stunning tone and is complimented by the soft grey hardware. My other pink medium size one has gold hardware so it’s great to now have options depending on what I’m wearing although I’ve found myself deciding my outfits around this bag, I can’t get enough of it. The criss cross and chevron quilting is very well designed and has a luxurious look and feel. It’s the perfect addition to my summer wardrobe.
I’ve styled with another new addition to my wardrobe in this shirred waist dress. I knew this would sell out quickly and I ordered while on holiday to make sure I didn’t miss out. It’s got a slight nod to the victorian style with the high frill neck. The waist detail is my favourite though and the gathered material is perfectly proportioned. The way it comes down to a point is a lovely touch and really helps to create shape. The tiered frill skirt is really feminine and flattering and flows nicely too. It’s made of a textured cotton and is therefore really lightweight and breathable.
I love to wear my Trail boots with pretty dresses and I think it works really well on this occasion.
