We’re right in the midst of summer and after the heatwave of last week, I’m ready for more glorious sunny days.
I’ve been making a conscious effort to get as much wear as possible out of my summer pieces even on the days when the weather isn’t that good. I picked up this dress recently and it’s a lovely addition to my summer wardrobe. I usually avoid bold floral patterns but this really caught my eye and the colouring is perfect, I do love a bit of blue.
The wrap style is really flattering but most importantly it’s practical. The dress has a button fasten on the inside on one side then it cross over and fasten on the other meaning there is no way it’s going to come undone or blow open on a windy day. The sleeves are a bit longer but give good coverage. The pattern is really bold with the large floral print detail but the blue and white tones are complimentary. It’s an easy way to inject some colour without going OTT. The crepe material is really lightweight and breathable which is ideal for summer.
I’ve paired with blue accessories such as a velvet Kensington bag and a nice pair of trainers. It would work equally as well with neutral tones or even a bold red bag if you’re feeling daring.
