Good Morning,
Early Autumn is the best time to transition your wardrobe, combining summer pieces with boots or chunky knits as demonstrated here. It doesn’t mean summer skirts and dresses are immediately out of the question, it’s about tailoring them to the current climate and accessorising accordingly.
This crochet style skirt is one of my favourite purchases of the Summer. I lusted after it as detailed in this post and since then it’s been a firm favourite. When I was considering packing it away for next year, I was thinking about how I could style it and get some more wear out of it before it’s well and truly too cold.
I love this crochet knit I got from H&M a few years ago. It’s a really thick and heavy knit despite looking quite transparent. The billowy sleeves are my favourite part and they flow beautifully. Not only is this a perfect match with the skirt in terms of design but the cream / ecru colour is ideal and blends wonderfully with the skirt. I’ve tucked it in slightly to let some of the detail of the skirt be shown at the front but I like it hanging down at the back.
My solution to managing to wear this skirt a little bit longer was to pair with my thigh high snake print boots from last winter. These were such a great purchase, I honestly thought they would sit on a shelf unworn, looking pretty but gathering dust and I couldn’t have been more wrong. The neutral tones are ideal for versatility and means the boots can be styled in loads of different ways. The heel height is just nice and they hug your legs while keeping you warm.
I really like this outfit and it just shows you can mix Summer pieces with Autumn pieces to get the perfect transitional look.
xo!
