Frill Blouse

Good Morning,

This outfit came together from watching an episode of E! news. It’s not something I indulge in often but this particular day, I had it on in the background. When I actually paid attention to it, I noticed one of the presenters was wearing a beautiful blouse and I had a feeling I’d seen it before. I also had a horrible feeling it could have been years ago I seen it and in any case I didn’t think they would be wearing something from Zara.

I quickly jumped on to the website to see if they still had it and luckily they did. I placed an order straight away in disbelief first of all that it was still available and second of all that they were wearing something from the high street. E! news used to be/might still be quite big and it’s always been glamorous. While I know there have been some changes in the presenters, I expected they’d have lots of brands gifting them pieces to wear on air to get coverage.

Anyway, the blouse arrived and I immediately had this look in mind. The pleated skirt is back in full swing this Autumn, it’s such a great wardrobe staple and literally goes with everything hence my constant wear.

The blouse is absolutely stunning. It’s a really bright white which I love as sometimes they can be off-white or ecru and if I’m wearing white, I want it to be white not beige. The black tie adds some detail and blends well with the skirt. The large frills on the sleeves are my favourite part and while I’ll likely wear for work most of the time, it’s one of those blouses that as soon as you put it on, you instantly feel put together and like you’ve got your sh*t together!

My little LouLou bag is the perfect match with the quilting contrasting against the pleats of the skirt. My old faithful Topshop boots are also back out although this is the second pair as my first pair were well and truly done.
