I don’t know if you’ve noticed but leather is well and truly trending at the moment, whether it’s skirts, dresses or trousers – it’s everywhere. It’s one of those trends that comes and goes frequently and it can be a hard one to get right. Most of the high street pieces will be faux leather and that’s what I generally go for although I do have one pair of real leather trousers.
As I touched on, it can be a difficult trend to get right. If the leather is too shiny it can look tragic or if the material is too loose, it can be extremely unforgiving so it’s a careful balance of getting the right look and most importantly, the right fit. Don’t let that put you off, just be selective if it’s something you’re going to buy into this season.
I seen various different faux leather trousers across the high street but I wasn’t 100% sold until I came across this pair from the Michelle Keegan range at Very. First of all, they are the first paperbag waist style I’ve seen which is amazing as elasticated waists are needed around this time of year and I love the ruffle detail at the top. Secondly, they have humungous hidden pockets which is great as pockets are essential but sometimes you don’t want them clearly defined. Lastly, the material is super forgiving and they have a tapered leg which is really flattering.
It’s safe to say I’ve found my perfect pair of leather look trousers which are comfortable, durable and can be dressed up or down. They’ll be ideal for the festive season and beyond.
