If you’ve been following for a while, you’ll know I’m a huge fan of tweed. I don’t know if it’s a Scottish thing with tweed originating from my homeland or if it’s just a random obsession, similar to my love of Paris which I’ve recently discovered is a ‘thing’ that has a name, a francophile. Who knew.
Anyway, Zara always comes through with lots of tweed pieces throughout the year, some of which have been the foundation of my favourite outfits ever including my pink tweed playsuit which I wore in my favourite place.
They’ve remained consistent this Autumn/Winter with quite a number of items such as jackets, dresses, playsuits and skirts. I’ve tried to reign it in a bit and not buy every tweed piece that arrives in the new in section however some days, I lose all self control.
This black and white number is really eye catching. The strapless design with low v neck draws the eyes down to the smallest part of the waist which is also accentuated with the shirred detail. The faux pockets add some character and the buttons down the front are perfectly proportioned.
I’ve added a black turtle neck top, also from Zara. It provides a plain base for the pinafore to stand out against.
I’ve kept the bag and boots simple with the patent finish of the bag contrasting against the intricate tweed detail. The boots are the EDA ones from Topshop which I now have in 4 different colour ways. The point is super severe which is flattering and elegant.
