Wardrobe Cleanse

Good Morning,

I started the new year by carrying out a thorough cleanse of my wardrobe. It’s the perfect time to do it as there are often new additions over the festive period perhaps gifts from loved ones or new pieces you’ve treated yourself to. I’m definitely more clear on what my typical style is these days and I’m able to stay clear of things which I know I simply won’t wear. I’m also trying to avoid those ‘one off’ pieces aside from really special occasions where it’s understandable and acceptable.

This means my wardrobe remains fluid and I have a lot of interchangeable items that can be worn in many different ways. On the one hand that makes a cleanse slightly more difficult however if you commit to reducing the volume of items and are really strict about it then you’ll still manage to get through it.

I was more brutal than ever before this year and I must have taken about 10 bags of clothes to the charity shops with a few also going to the dump with items that were end of life or not reusable. I saved a few bags of items I plan to sell on eBay and that’s a process I’m commencing at the weekend.

My aim for 2020 is to buy less and be more savvy when it comes to creating different outfit ideas from existing pieces.
