Chunky knitwear is essential this time of year but I like contrasting it with other materials or prints to create a different look and feel.
This black crop knit is great for styling with jeans or skirts but being so thick and chunky, I wasn’t sure it would work underneath a dress or pinafore. Trial and error is the only way and I actually really like the way it turned out.
The monochrome tweed pinafore is detailed and a great everyday piece. It can be worn in so many different ways with a simple top underneath, a blazer on top, a jumper underneath or on top. There’s so many combinations that could work.
The texture of this chunky knit is what really makes it stand out against the tweed. The thick, almost 3d effect of the interwoven knit is stunning and the high neck is just at the right height, not too high but not too low either.
A smooth leather bag is the perfect match as it shows up well against the grain of the tweed and knit. A knee high pair of boots add some character and help keep the legs warm with only a small amount of exposure.
