Good Morning,
A sweetheart neckline is one that is flattering to every figure. The easily identifiable heart shaped style is infamous in bridal gowns due to it’s versatility and ability to work for people of all shapes and sizes. It creates a beautiful shape, enhancing or giving the illusion of curves. The soft design emphasises the décolletage while maintaining composure.
It’s not something I have a lot of in my wardrobe as I tend to opt for a high neck a majority of the time, preferring to show my legs more than my bust. When I spotted this top on Olivia Rose, I was instantly sold. It’s a very thick, ribbed knit material and it’s completely stiff with zero stretch. The chunky straps work really well against the softer, sweetheart neckline and help keep things in proportion. I also find a chunky strap is good for detracting attention from your upper arms which is helpful if that’s an area you’re not too comfortable sharing. Although this top looked crop on the website, it’s actually a really good length and works well with mid or high waisted trousers, shorts or skirts. The neutral tone is perfect for mixing with other items in my wardrobe and makes it a timeless piece that won’t go out style.
xo!
