Shorts are my go to in Summer even when I’m not going anywhere. They are practical and easy to throw on while lounging round the house, to run errands or for an impromptu picnic in the park. Long gone are my days of wearing low rise shorts or low rise anything to be honest. High waisted styles are my friend and I’m loyal if nothing else.
I spotted this particular pair the other week and while my short collection is already overflowing, I decided to add another pair into the mix. The boxer style is unique and the fine, vertical stripes are classic. The elastic waist gives a casual feel and I love the way they are cut on the side. Unfortunately you can’t see what I’m talking about from these photos as I’m sitting down but it’s really flattering and softens to boyishness (if that’s even a word).
I’ve paired with a feminine bandeau top which again contrasts against the shorts. The crinkle cut is perfect as it doesn’t need ironed and that’s always a winner. It also adds some texture and the clean white makes it easy to style with anything and everything.
I’ve added my chunky sneakers for a casual day and my blue Kensington for an extra pop of colour.
