I’m having a bit of a love affair with blue at the moment. It’s not really a new thing, it’s more of a long standing commitment but it’s become more notable lately in my purchases and styling. Blue is one of those colours which works all year round. Light and dark tones of blue work whether we’re in the middle of Summer or in the depths of Winter. As a result, it’s a way to add colour to your wardrobe without having to worry about seasonability.
I picked up this flirty little number from the Amy Neville collection for SHEIN. It contains all my favourite things when it comes to summer styling:
– Bandeau / Off the shoulder
– Shirred Waist
Three big ticks from me and it arrived at my door a few days after ordering. The tone of blue is beautiful and it’s actually nicer in the flesh than how it’s showing in these photos. There is a very subtle dot pattern embedded in the material which you can see better when it catches the light or as you move. The deep ruffle layer is ideal for summer as it allows you to catch the sun on your shoulders without any awkward lines. It also helps add volume in the bust area if you are not well-endowed but similarly if you are big breasted, it can help highlight your shape particularly as the shirred waist draws you in creating an hourglass effect. At £20 it’s great value for money and a lovely little number to add your summer collection or to snap up if you’re heading off on a late summer break. Can you imagine this in Santorini against the backdrop of the white buildings. A girl can dream…
