I’m trying to keep as much brightness in my Autumn wardrobe as possible this year. Usually I’d have stored away my white Summer dresses in exchange for chunky knits and teddy coats. While I do have those items at the ready, I’m dragging out the wear of my Summer pieces for as long as is physically possible. Perhaps it’s down to not having as much wear of my Summer wardrobe as I normally would through travels and adventures or maybe it’s a shift in my styling. Either way, I’m enjoying the lighter and brighter outfits and adding a touch of colour to my Autumnal wardrobe.
This white dress was such a great buy. It’s one of those pieces I found through Instagram. I seen someone wearing it and HAD to order immediately. If I had simply seen it on the website, I probably wouldn’t have thought anything of it or been drawn in. The way it hangs on the frame and flows beautifully as you move is exquisite. The skirt is the best part with all the layers of fabric underneath creating volume and flair. It’s a really elegant and feminine piece which I know I’ll keep in my wardrobe for years to come.
Adding a chunky stripe knit on top of the dress makes it wearable on milder Autumn days when it’s dry and crisp with little to no wind. It softens the femininity and adds a contrasting texture with the thick knit material. The pink and plum stripes compliment the fresh white base and bring some colour to the overall look alongside my pastel pink Kensington. This bag is a dream, it adds an air of sophistication and the smooth buttery soft leather is heavenly.
My chunky Louis Vuitton Trail Boots always work really well with pretty dresses. They add some grit and the black patent parts stand out well against the soft white and pink tones.
