Red Ivy

Good Morning & Happy Friday!

We’re at that point in Autumn when the leaves change to the most vibrant and deep colours. I don’t know if it’s down to the lack of travels this year or simply from exploring more of my own local area through fresh eyes but I feel as though everything is more vivid this Autumn. The colours are brighter and the transformation is more apparent. Perhaps the change of season this time around is a symbol of bigger change to come.

I’ve been admiring the shift from Summer to Autumn, enjoying the change of colour in nature as well as the shift in temperature to cold, crisp days. The leaves are falling and becoming crunchy, crumbling under our feet. Climbing ivy that was once yellow or green is now a deep red and provides a strong contrast against muted backdrops.

I’ve added a few new pieces of knitwear into my Autumn wardrobe including this oversized and almost ‘grandad’ style cardigan from Zara. It’s a lovely neutral beige with a deep v neck and a double breasted button up front. I’ve mainly been wearing it open although I do love the tortoiseshell buttons. It also has two pockets which you don’t often get on a cardigan but they add some detail and practicality too. It’s a super soft knit which is not at all itchy. It’s great value for money at only £29.99 and it comes in a lovely light grey too.

You can easily throw it on over loungewear, jeans and a t-shirt or as styled here, with a pretty dress. It’s an extremely versatile piece that will be wearable year after year and will see me through Autumn, Winter as well as Spring.
