Good Morning,
I could have quite easily spent a full day or more floating around Carlowrie Castle, admiring it in all it’s glory from the different angles and living out my childhood princess fairytale dreams. It’s truly the perfect setting for a wedding or special occasion and if money was no object I’d take all my close family and friends to stay there for day or two. It would be a beautiful escape from day to day life and we could celebrate all of the milestones and opportunities we’ve missed out on this year together in a truly spectacular way.
For now, reality awaits and I’m less than a week away from the big three zero. I’d say I’ve got mixed emotions about it right now, on the one hand I’m sad I can’t celebrate in the way I would have liked (on Akumal beach in Tulum) however on the flip side I’m extremely grateful that I’m safe and well with a stable job and a strong support circle around me. What more could I want really.
Previously we could book a flight at a moments notice, jet off somewhere exotic without really thinking about any negative consequences. We could go out for dinner in a restaurant and end up staying out, simply following our innocent intuition in the spur of the moment. Some of my best memories are from the non-planned nights with friends and the random antics that would go down. Not having a plan is often the best plan however everything has to be carefully considered the moment, often scheduled far in advance with no guarantees. Patience will prevail though, we need to hold our nerve a little bit longer and it’ll pay off. By sacrificing some of our freedoms now, we’ll still have those we love most when we reach the other side.
Travels in the future will be treasured more than ever, enjoying gelato in Italy will taste sweeter than we could imagine and Paris will appear even more beautiful than before. Ours eyes will be wide open, our hearts full of love and gratitude and our sense of adventure awakened. Sometimes it takes the worst to happen for the important things to come to the forefront.
xo!
