Good Morning,
I’ve come full circle in terms of what I wear around the house. I started with loungewear during the first lockdown then I got a bit fed up with it and felt too slouchy. I started wearing dresses and normal clothes and enjoyed the transition as I love that feeling of getting in from work and changing into my comfy and cosy pieces. It’s such a good feeling and I found it helped to differentiate between work and leisure as it can be tricky to switch off when everything happens in the same space. Wearing normal casual clothes or workwear during the day and being in my comfies in the evenings gave me that much needed separation.
Now that the days are shorter and much colder, I’m leaning back towards loungewear. I know I’ll look back on this period of time in the future and wish I’d made the best of it. When I’m back in the office I’ll be wishing I could be comfortable and cosy at home therefore I’m allowing myself to indulge in wearing whatever I want day to day. Some days I’ll be smart, some might be half and half with joggers on the bottom and professional on the top half while others will be full on loungewear or pyjamas. We’re unlikely to have the opportunity to work at home as freely as we do right now and I’m going to roll with it and get as much out of it as I can.
This fluffy set is the cosiest thing I own. I picked it up from H&M and featured it in my Affordable SKIMS Dupes post. It wasn’t until I’d had it on for a short period of time that I realised how warm it is. As someone who is freezing 99.9% of the time, it’s an absolute revelation. The material is super soft and best of all, it doesn’t shed. I’ve lost count of the times I’ve had a cosy jumper that is unwearable due to the amount of fluff that comes off it which is such a shame. There is one downside to the robe which I must share with you for transparency – it doesn’t have pockets. In my opinion, pockets are essential when it comes to dressing gowns and usually a non-negotiable. If this wasn’t as warm and cosy as it is, I might not have kept it but I’ve reluctantly compromised on this occasion.
The trousers are high waist which is an absolute winner. I got them in a size small as I wanted them to be nice and roomy but they are pretty generous and I’d recommend sticking to your normal size. They are a wide leg which is flattering due to the high waist fit. They are a good length and not too long which is a treat as I normally find this style of fit to be mega long on my short legs. Annoyingly they don’t do a matching top however I’ve got my cable knit one from Primark which is a similar off white / ecru tone and works well.
They recently brought the set out in a grey tone which I couldn’t possibly resist. The warmth alone will save a fortune on heating bills as I’m not exaggerating when I say they are the cosiest thing I own. I’ll be wearing these sets for the foreseeable while getting in the festive spirit, wrapping my gifts, watching cheesy movies and indulging in some good snacks.
xo!
