Good Morning,
I haven’t bought much in the January sales this year, partly due to being royally spoiled for my birthday and Christmas and therefore I don’t need or want for anything but it’s also partly due to not having anywhere to go / anything to do in the imminent future. One thing I did snap up before Christmas actually as the sales started very early was this beautiful crochet style knit from Mango. It instantly gave me Isabel Marant vibes and I didn’t hesitate to purchase as I knew it would fit right in with existing pieces in my wardrobe as well as there being a high chance of it selling out quickly.
I’ll link below the exact Isabel Marant knit which has inspired this piece as well as a few others that are similar. The exaggerated shoulders make a statement while the cable knit and crochet adds some subtle detail. The high neck is ideal for keeping warm and enables you to layer thermals underneath although the knit itself is quite thick anyway. There is also some detail on the cuff of the sleeve which is a nice touch. It looks way more expensive than it is and I would have been happy to pay the full price for it had I spotted it before the sale started. That’s always my rule when buying sale pieces, if I’m not prepared to pay the full price, I shouldn’t get it when on sale.
I can see this being a timeless piece in my knitwear collection and one that I bring out each Autumn/Winter. It blends effortlessly with my existing pieces and as a result I can get a lot of wear out of it. The neutral colour is ideal and it can be worn with warm or cool tones which makes it really versatile and easy to style.
